Project Description
Ilford Yard Stabling Project was a £55 million project between VolkerFitzpatrick Ltd and Crossrail. This project covered the provision of additional stabling facilities at Ilford Depot.
As well as the provision of additional stabling facilities the project required changes to a number of existing buildings at the Ilford Yard to ensure that Crossrail can build ten new sidings to house trains overnight.
Work included the demolition of Workshop B, the existing Paint Shop, Mess Buildings and Shunters Cabin. A replacement Paint Shop and new Logistics and Stores building was constructed. Modifications to Bombardier Transportation Workshop A were also completed.
