Project Description:
64-66 Wigmore St is a new self-contained office building located in the heart of London that was developed to provide approximately 55,000 sq ft of Grade A office accommodation across 7 floors inclusive of a double basement.
Richmond was contracted to carry out the bulk excavation of the double basement. Richmond also installed the reinforced concrete basement floor slab, foundations and walls up to ground level. It was a challenging and rewarding experience to undertake such an enormous basement contract in the heart of London city.
Main Scope of Work
Removal of piling mat

300 plus load of stone was carted off site
Break down existing reinforced concrete piles

The existing reinforced concrete piles were 750mm in diameter

They were broken down the full depth of the excavation (average of 6 metres) using our specialist pile cropper equipment

Approximately 100 no. piles were broken out and carted off site
Bulk excavation of muck and cart off site

Average depth of 6 metres from street level
